London Tech Week 2021
September saw the annual London Tech Week kick off with a series of events celebrating UK innovation and providing a platform for conversation on the global technology industry. Tech London Advocates and Global Tech Advocates founder Russ Shaw CBE, was at the heart of the action alongside inspirational founders, tech leaders, senior investors and rising stars, to collaborate and discuss the vital role of technology in society.
The week started with the Global Leaders Innovation Summit on Monday, featuring the newly appointed Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), Nadine Dorries and Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng. They were joined by Dell Technologies, IBM, Experian and Klarna, who set the agenda for the week. A later event, the Global Tech Advocates Showcase, brought together industry leaders from five continents to discuss tech innovation’s role in tackling climate change and to share examples from their local ecosystems.
Throughout the week, a number of new Tech London Advocates Groups launched, including Tech Australia Advocates and TLA Young Entrepreneurs, led by 15-year old coder, Femi Owolade-Coombes. Also on the agenda were discussions around important issues such as the current global chip shortage, inclusive innovation, how young business leaders can access funding, and the vision for the future of global tech.
Seven Hills is proud to have supported our clients at London Tech Week, as an important platform for tech advocates, entrepreneurs and leaders to voice their views and ideas on the crucial role that tech will play in providing a more sustainable and progressive future.
